Actual Weights

Performance

Weight

  • The towing limit of the Suzuki is more than sufficient (check this in your vehicle documents).
  • If you passed your driving test after 1 January 1997, a B driving license is enough.
  • Weight ratio between the laden caravan and the loaded car is 0%. Common in the UK: the weight ratio between the laden caravan and the kerbweight of the car is 0%.
  • The chance of snaking is small even at higher speeds.
  • Recommended noseweight is 50 kg.
  • Stability and safety score to compare is 366 points.

If the caravan starts to snake you should reduce your speed and slow down directly! Lift your feet off the accelerator and brake gradually. Hold the steering wheel into a fixed position.

Conclusion

  • Performance is very good.
  • Safe driving is possible.
  • It's a perfect match!

Influence of User Payload on stability

Weight distribution and noseweight are vital in obtaining a stable caravan.

Distribute the User Payload by yourself in the caravan and the car and then find out the stability rating of your loading configuration.

User Reviews

Vitaliy reviewed a Suzuki Jimny 1.3 16v aut.:

"Having bought Jimmy (petrol/automatic) and after following in love with caravanning I started to look for an appropriate caravan. Since this is a small car I had to look for something small and light. The only option identified was QEK Junior formerly produced in Eastern German. It’s kerbweight is around 350/maximum weight 500 kg (with breaks).

I think it’s a good option for the car. The car holds the road quite well. I don’t feel any particular negative impact on driving except for the acceleration which is very slow for this car anyway. On good roads the car with caravan goes up to 90 km/h. Fuel consumption increases up to 10 liters per 100 km (with airbox on the car), particularly when the opposite wind blows. The only inconvenience, which I noticed, is a small tank (around 40 litters) which makes you stop at petrol station more often. If you have no other option except Jimny, QEK Junior can be a good option.

The longest distance per night I made with this caravan is around 750 km (Kiev-Crimea). "
